The Lupinus is a vigorous, clump-forming herbaceous perennial. It produces dense spires of pea-like, carmine-red flowers in early and midsummer.
Ideal for mixed or herbaceous border, cottage gardens. The Lupinus prefers to be grown in light, fertile, well-drained preferably slightly acid soil in the sun. It tolerates part-day shade. Take basal cuttings in mid-spring; lupins are often short lived.
